Starry Night Psammocora has bright green mouths with a blue body and a neon green growth rim.
In general, corals coming from the genus Psammocora are known to initially grow in an encrusting form. After they have encrusted much of the surface they are growing on, they will start to grow branches that are usually thick and is spread throughout their entire colony. When their tentacles in the polyps are retracted, they can easily be identified through their grainy appearance that looks like a sandpaper. They are generally an easy to keep SPS that thrives under LED and can usually handle water quality fluctuations that other SPS would fail in. Psammocora are one of the more overlooked and uncommonly found SPS species in the reef keeping hobby. Psammocora, affectionately known as Psammy, is a great coral for the beginning aquarist. Many Psammocora will bear a solid colored skin and polyps, while several species will have contrasting polyps and skin.
